Upper Elementary ages 8-11
The Upper Elementary Social Skills Group is for children ages 8-11 years old.
The Upper Elementary Group is an opportunity for children who have understanding and functional use of the Social Thinking curriculum, and are moving toward independence in those skills. We use the Think Social! curriculum. Skill building is focused on:
- Increase independence in novel social situations in a structured environment
- Gross motor play opportunities
- Flexibility in group thinking
The Zones of Regulation is a systematic cognitive behavioral approach used to teach self-regulation by categorizing the different ways we feel and states of alertness into four concrete zones. The Upper Elementary group focuses on:

- Big Deal vs. Little Deal
- Zone triggers and beginning strategies and tools
