Physical Therapy
Our supportive physical therapists work to improve general strength, balance, mobility and coordination using a variety of treatment strategies and equipment. It is our goal for your child to access his or her daily environment (community, home, school) as independently and safely as possible. Children with a deficit in strength, balance or mobility are at risk for further general delay as they continue to grow. At ICAN we work as a team to develop an individualized treatment plan catered to the needs of both your child and your family.
Benefits of physical therapy include:
- General strengthening
- Improved gait pattern and lower extremity alignment during mobility for increased efficiency and pain prevention
- Support and education for orthotic and equipment management as needed

- Development of home exercise program for improved carryover
- Providing education to family and other providers to promote strengthening and gross motor development throughout your child's typical day
