Insurance costs include both upfront costs and costs that are incurred for accessing services.
Your upfront costs are typically associated with paying for the premium of your plan. Your employer may cover a portion or all of the premium.
These are costs associated with accessing services and include co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles.
NOT ALL INSURANCE PLANS ARE THE SAME AND THE COST OF INSURANCE VARIES GREATLY.
Cost of Intensive Services:
Given the intensity of ABA services, families are often faced with more frequent therapy sessions and therefore higher costs.
We contract with a number of major insurance carriers who will authorize and reimburse ICAN for treatment. Some plans will authorize treatment, but require the family to pay out of pocket and seek reimbursement from the insurance company after the fact. In these cases private pay services are an excellent option. Reports and documentation of services are distributed on an individualized basis to meet the insurance company’s reimbursement schedule.
We do offer private pay options with discounts to support families in paying out of pocket expenses associated with intensive treatment.
Plan Ahead and Budget
It is important that you understand all of the costs associated with treatment and develop a budget.
***If you have a flexible spending account, you can plan to put money into this account to help cover the costs of co-insurance and deductibles. There are tax benefits to utilizing this benefit as well.***
